Exceptional antique industrial screw press , constructed from solid wood and iron.
The piece features a monumental hand-carved wooden screw rising from a cylindrical wooden housing, reinforced with forged iron bands. It stands on an unusual triangular wooden platform fitted with original iron corner brackets and small castors.
Its sculptural proportions, strong geometric silhouette and untouched aged surface make it particularly striking as an industrial decorative object. The original patina, traces of use, weathering, old repairs and surface wear have been preserved.
A rare and highly decorative piece with a powerful architectural presence, suitable as a freestanding sculpture or statement object in a contemporary, brutalist or industrial interior.
Appearance
Good antique condition with pronounced signs of age and use. The wood displays cracks, wear, old and surface irregularities. Oxidation and losses to the painted finish are visible on the ironwork and base. Sold in its authentic, unrestored condition.
